The Wells-Barkerville area in the Cariboo Mountains offers an extensive network of signed summer and winter trails. In addition to the interpretative center in the Barkerville Historic Townsite, visitors have an opportunity to follow the steps of the Gold rush miners on a variety of historic trails and routes.

The Cameron Ridge trail, in the Quesnel Highlands, offers spectacular views of the
Cariboo Mountains. Since the Cameron Ridge trail is half way between Barkerville
and Likely, a popular circle tour, it’s a great place to stop and explore. The mellow
slopes have great potential from Nov-May for intermediate backcountry ski
touring.

Eureka Peak in the Cariboo Mountains is well known to locals as an easily
accessible wilderness alpine experience offering options for day and multi-day
hiking and good backcountry skiing. A commercial guide outfitting service also
operates in the area.

Hallis Lake
The Hallis Lake ski trails have been developed and are maintained by
the Cariboo Ski Touring Club. These extensive and well maintained
multi-use trails are located in a snowbelt, east of Quesnel and offer
high quality skiing on national standard nordic trails (2.5 km lighted
trail). In the summer and fall, Hallis Lake is a great place for family
hiking, biking, or walking.Ski all trails in a clockwise direction.

The Hangman Springs Trail network is maintained by the Baker Creek
Endurance Riders. These trails are multi-use and you can expect to find
equestrians, mountain bikers, and ATVs sharing the trail network. The
highlight of the trails are very scenic views along Baker Creek.

Mount Elsey, known to the locals as Teapot offers amazing backcountry skiing and
snowboarding from late October to mid-June. From late July to the end of September, the hiking trail provides a starting point for extended Alpine trekking
and ridge walks.

The Wonderland Trail was built by through the hard work of Quesnel mountain
bikers. The trail offers an amazing array of advanced to expert technical riding with
artificial obstacles (such as teeter-totters). This is the place to improve your riding skills!
